Dear Colleague,
What if the most powerful way to differentiate your work, your institution, or your organization was not another initiative, but a shared, evidence-based way of learning from experience?
We invite you to join the Kolb Experiential Learning Profile Certification Program, a rigorous and human centered professional development experience grounded in decades of research on how people learn, grow, and lead. This program will be facilitated by Mimi Wang, MSPOD.
At its core, the Kolb Experiential Learning Profile is a learning map. It is not a personality type or a diagnostic.
It reveals how people learn, make decisions, and change. It provides a guide for building learning flexibility and reaching potential.
This program is not simply a certification. It is a shift in how you understand development itself (including your own).
The Kolb Experiential Learning Profile as a learning map
Each of us has a preferred learning style. Learning style is our habitual way of using the learning map. It reflects where we tend to enter the learning process and where we naturally dwell.
Learning flexibility is our capacity to move beyond habit and use the full terrain of the map as the situation requires.
Seen this way, learning style is not a limit. It is a starting position.
Why this program matters
In a world defined by complexity, disruption, and constant change, the true differentiator is not what people know. It is how effectively they learn, adapt, and manage complex decision making.
The KELP offers a clear, practical, and human answer to a question many of us face in different roles: How do we help people grow intentionally, continuously, and with real impact?
What this looks like in practice, depending on your role
If you are a coach, you will gain:
A learning map that helps both clients and coaches understand how learning happens
A shared language that deepens insight, reflection, and accountability
Tools that help people turn experience into meaningful action and sustained growth
ICF Continuing Coach Education (CCE) hours earned through application, reflection, and integration
If you are an educator, provost, or dean, you will gain:
A differentiating learning framework that strengthens student engagement, persistence, and success
A shared process and language that aligns faculty, staff, and students around learning itself
A practical way to connect experiential learning, reflection, assessment, and growth
A learning map based approach that supports the transition from education into internships, early career roles, teamwork, and professional readiness
If you are an HR or talent development professional, you will gain:
A unifying learning map that works across roles, levels, and functions
A shared language that improves trust, reduces friction, and supports change
Tools that turn everyday work into learning opportunities
A scalable approach to developing learning agility in people and teams
If you are a leader, you will gain:
Deeper insight into how you and others approach decisions, change, and collaboration
A way to lead development without relying on one size fits all solutions
Greater capacity to build learning centered cultures that adapt and grow
A framework that strengthens both performance and humanity
What this work makes possible
By the end of the program, you will leave with:
A working knowledge of the ideal process of learning, both practical and inspirational
A clear understanding of learning maps as guides for growth, judgment, collaboration, and change
Your own Kolb Experiential Learning Profile and professional debrief
The ability to use learning maps confidently in coaching, education, leadership, and development contexts
Tools and language that immediately elevate conversations, programs, and outcomes
A renewed sense of agency in how people grow, how they help others grow, and how learning shapes a life
In practice, this work changes how people:
Grow and develop themselves
Educate, coach, and mentor others
Work with and understand people who learn differently
Build trust and collaboration in teams and organizations
Navigate the transition from education into work and career growth
